A new SBC exhibition March 2015

The exhibition is called 'We are all basketmakers – new work from the Scottish Basketmakers Circle' and will be at The Barony in West Kilbride from 14th March to 16th May 2015.
The Barony, part of Craft Town Scotland  is an exciting venue with high ceilings and lots of daylight see http://www.crafttownscotland.org/the-barony-centre/ for further information. We are looking to have an exhibition which expresses and celebrates the rich variety of work made by the members of the Scottish Basketmakers Circle.
Conditions for entry are that you need to be a member of the SBC from March 2014 and all work submitted should be new and not have been exhibited before, there is no specific theme. We are keen to encourage collaborations and site specific installations. Makers at all levels are invited to submit up to three pieces, there is no size limit. Please email up to 6 images with brief information about size and materials and / or, if you plan an installation, drawings with details of materials, fixings and scale to Maggie Broadley  maggie@crafttownscotland.org by Saturday 31st January 2015.
The selection panel will include two craft curators, an SBC representative and Maggie Broadley, director of Craft Town Scotland. Selection will be made from photographic submissions. All selected work needs to arrive at The Barony by Tuesday 10th March 2015 along with the completed application form and in packaging which can be reused to post the work back to you at the end.
As part of the exhibition we are interested in your responses to the following three questions: ' How did you start making baskets?', 'Why do you make baskets?' and 'What are you aspiring to?' We are also hoping to have a series of workshops accessible to all throughout the length of the exhibition. We are most keen to have this exhibition as inclusive as possible.
If you are interested or need to know more please email Maggie Broadley on maggie@crafttownscotland.org for the application form or any queries.
