Joe Hogan at the Scottish Gallery

Joe Hogan will have another exhibition at the Scottish Gallery from 4-28 April, called 'Learning from the Earth'. The Scottish Gallery website says "Learning from the Earth presents new willow work from traditional basketmaker and fine artist Joe Hogan. Joe has worked from his studio in Loch na Fooey in West Ireland since 1978.

Wattle and Daub Exhibition


SBC Member Helen Jackson has been working with Aberdeenshire potter HIlary Duncan for some years exploring the combination of willow and clay. They have taken part in North East Open Studios, most recently in 2016, displaying both their individual and their collaborative pieces. Now they present an exhition of their work, combined with a number of workshops, at The Barn, Burn o' Bennie, Banchory AB31 5QA. The exhibition runs from 10th-21st April.

Lizzie Farey is part of a free exhibition, now moved from the City Art Centre, Edinburgh to the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, call 'A Fine Line' 

Woven Together. The SBC 2018 exhibition

The SBC 2018 exhibition, Woven Together, which celebrates 30 years of the SBC, has begun. It is currently showing at the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery, Castle Wynd, Inverness, before moving to AROS, ouside Portree on Skye, then Elgin, the Botanics in Edinburgh and then Braemar. Twenty-six members have submitted, in total, over seventy pieces of work. The fui range of basketry techniqes is represented in diverse materials. Both functional and decorative pieces have been submitted, many for sale.
